As the summer heat softens, autumn becomes one of the best times to holiday at Gold Coast Tourist Parks. With perfect weather for outdoor adventures and fewer crowds, it's the ideal season to slow down, explore, and soak up everything our region has to offer.
Wander scenic walking trails, visit our world-class
beaches and sip local wines and beers. Add to that an exciting line-up of
events, live music, markets, and sporting action — and you've got the perfect
recipe for an unforgettable getaway!
Explore our natural areas
As we say goodbye to the summer heat, it's the perfect time to explore our natural areas and scenic walking tracks. On the northern Gold Coast, the Federation Walk Coastal Reserve is a must-visit. Stretching from Philip Park near Sea World to the Seaway on The Spit, it is one of the few remaining areas with an established dune system on the Gold Coast. The network of trails is perfect for bushwalking, birdwatching, running and bike riding.
Centrally located is the iconic Oceanview Walk at Burleigh Head National Park. The 1km track loops around and over Jellurgal (Burleigh Headland) and boasts epic views of the ocean, Tallebudgera Creek, and our city skyline.
In the southern end, walk along the coastal path from Kirra to Snapper Rocks. This 2km stretch will take you past word-class surf breaks and sparkling bays perfect for swimming.

Blues on Broadbeach
You can't talk about autumn without Blues on Broadbeach! This festival is one of the Gold Coast's most iconic annual events, bringing the heart and soul of blues music to the streets of Broadbeach. Every May, this free, four-day music festival transforms the beachside precinct into a lively celebration of rhythm and blues. Featuring a wide array of international and homegrown artists performing across multiple stages, the free festival is a can't-miss event.
In addition to the tunes, enjoy food trucks, pop up bars and family friendly activations. This year's festival will take place from 15-18 May.

Go on a winery or brewery tour
Those crisp autumn days are perfect for touring the Gold Coast's craft breweries and wineries! For the wine drinkers, head up to Tamborine Mountain. Located less than an hour from Surfers Paradise, this region boasts quaint wineries in serene natural settings. Try Witches Falls Winery, where you can taste handcrafted wines made from locally grown grapes.
For a unique experience, head to O'Reilly's Canungra Valley Vineyards where you can sip on some vino and meet some friendly Alpacas at the nearby Mountainview Alpaca farm.
If beer is more your style, try local favourites like Burleigh Brewing Co. and Balter Brewing, all known for their creative brews, friendly taprooms, and community vibe.
Whether you're sipping a bold red in the hinterland or enjoying a refreshing pale ale by the beach, the Gold Coast's wineries and breweries offer the perfect adventure during your autumn holiday.

Hit the beach
Autumn is one of the best-kept secrets when it comes to visiting the Gold Coast beaches. As the summer crowds begin to ease, the coastline transforms into a peaceful paradise. The ocean is still inviting, with water temperatures ideal for swimming, surfing, and stand-up paddle boarding. Plus, autumn sunsets are truly spectacular, painting the sky with vibrant hues of pink, orange, and gold.

More events!
Autumn boasts events the whole family will love. For the surf enthusiasts, check out the Gold Coast Pro at Snapper Rocks - home to some of the most famous victories in surfing history.
Spend your morning strolling through the local farmers and artisan markets. From Coolangatta to Surfers Paradise, our vibrant markets offer everything from fresh produce, handmade goods and artisan foods in a laid-back, family environment. Check out what markets are on during your stay here.
Footy fans are in for a treat, with exciting AFL and NRL games taking place throughout the season. You can catch all the action live at People First Stadium, home to the Gold Coast SUNS AFL team, where they battle it out against top teams in the competition. Just a short drive away, CBUS Super Stadium in Robina hosts thrilling NRL matches with the Gold Coast Titans, offering excitement and family-friendly fun. Whether you're a die-hard supporter or just love the energy of a live sporting event, attending an footy game on the Gold Coast is a fantastic way to spend an autumn afternoon.
