Getting around the GC is easy as!

Hopo Ferry Service

Whether it's your first trip to the Gold Coast or you're a seasoned regular, getting around the GC has never been easier! With our well established transport services and some awesome new ways to get around town, when you stay at the Main Beach Tourist Park you will never feel left behind!

When planning your day the first port of call should be the Translink website. This is the central website for the Queensland public transport system and has a really handy journey planner. Just enter your starting place and your destination and the planner will take care of the rest! Information for buses, trains, the G:link Tram and the Hopo Ferry Service are all included.

Main Beach Tourist Park is located on 2 bus routes and has a bus stop right at the entrance to the park. The 705 bus will take you all the way to Broadbeach and the magnificent Pacific Fair Shopping Centre to the south and up to The Spit and Seaworld to the north. The bus services run until around 11pm.

The new Gold Coast G:link tram is a really handy way to get around. Currently it runs from Helensvale Train Station in the north, past the Gold Coast University Hospital and into the heart of Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach in the south. Plans have been released for the G:link extension all the way to the Gold Coast Airport which will complete the missing link to getting around the Gold Coast! The nearest station is a 10 minute walk from the Tourist Park.

Another new way of getting around the GC is the Hopo Ferry. Currently the ferry zig zags it's way around the stunning Broadwater with a few destinations which include the Broadwater Parklands and the fabulous HOTA, GC's Home of the Arts. The best part about the Hopo, apart from the great views, is that it is wheelchair friendly! The closest departure point is only a 15 minute walk to the Marina Mirage.

As you may expect, being so close to the heart of Surfers Paradise, the Uber and Taxi services are very convenient and will only take a couple of minutes to meet you at the Tourist Park reception. We can also call a taxi for you! Just be at reception ready to go and we'll have one arrive in no time at all.

For something a little different, you may wish to hire a bicycle, motor scooter or segway from one of the outlets in Surfers Paradise. Perhaps you'd even like to have a tour of the area on one of the GC's Aquaducks or hire a Jetski to get out on the waterways!

Last, but not least, the Main Beach Tourist Park is located just a 30 minute beach stroll in to the heart of Surfers Paradise. There are also some really lovely walking paths and bike tracks to explore, whether you have a destination in mind or just want to take a wander.

There are so many options when it comes to getting around on the Gold Coast. Our reception team is always on hand to offer help, ideas and even a bit of local knowledge.
