What another epic year at the 2024 Caravan Parks Association of Queensland (CPAQ) and Caravan Industry Association of Australia (CIAA) Awards!

Celebrating excellence in Queensland's and Australia's caravan and holiday parks, this year's awards have once again highlighted the industry's best. Gold Coast Tourist Parks emerged as a standout, with 5 parks taking home awards for their outstanding contributions and achievements.

Donna Reynolds, Burleigh Beach Tourist Park

🏆 Winner: Employee of the Year

Donna is an excellent Guest Services Agent who is incredibly caring and excels at customer service. With a heightened sensibility to the needs of others, Donna goes above and beyond for guests.

She is a problem-solver who pre-empts customer's needs, effectively addresses customer concerns, and handles sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy. She actively seeks out opportunities to improve customer service and offerings, including forming a partnership with SeaWorld last year to offer discounted whale-watching cruises to Burleigh Beach Tourist Park and other GCTP group guests.

As a dedicated team player, Donna's reliable nature, initiative, and continued commitment to improving service standards have resulted in business growth for the park. She is a selfless individual who genuinely cares about her guests and team and even continues to provide personal assistance to previous park guests who are elderly and vulnerable.

Housekeeping Team, Broadwater Tourist Park

🏆 Winner: Team of the Year

Broadwater Tourist Park's amazing housekeeping team, Wendy, Ilona, Jo, Gina, Ruby, Carol, and Stacy led by Team Leader Blair, clean the park to a standard that exceeds expectations.

They consistently receive positive feedback from guests and effectively manage extreme workload days to ensure cabins look immaculate before guests arrive. Every team member is invested in doing what is best for the park, from developing innovative ideas and purchasing new products to improve the quality and efficiency of their work to starting work before their rostered start times in preparation for the day ahead.

Supporting all members both personally and at work, this team have a genuine desire to help out wherever they are needed.

Kirra Beach Tourist Park

🏆 Winner: Outstanding Host

With a culture that prioritises exceptional customer service, respect, integrity, and teamwork, Kirra Beach Tourist Park has implemented a comprehensive process that addresses staff training, values staff and guest feedback, and promotes continuous service improvement.

The team goes above and beyond in customer service, pet-friendliness, cleanliness, and community building, ensuring all guests have a memorable and enjoyable stay. Team members undergo regular service training to stay updated on best practices and to reinforce their commitment to excellence.

Guest feedback is actively sought out by the park through surveys, comment cards, and online reviews to foster a culture of openness. They continuously strive to solidify the park's status as a premier destination and contribute to a strong sense of community and loyalty amongst visitors.

Kirra Beach Tourist Park's commitment to outstanding service has resulted in overwhelmingly positive reviews from guests, repeat visitors, increased bookings and occupancy rates, and a ReviewPro GRI of 94.4 per cent for the first quarter of 2024.

Burleigh Beach Tourist Park

🏅 Highly Commended Finalist: Outstanding Host

Burleigh Beach Tourist Park continuously engage with guests at every stage of their holiday to provide the best customer service and in-park experiences that are unique, engaging, and create a sense of community.

Using their customer journey framework, Burleigh Beach effectively identifies and pre-empts guest needs. The park's commitment to going above and beyond was evident during the storms over Christmas 2023, where the team provided additional assistance to guests affected by damage, conducted welfare checks, and made support calls to ensure everyone was taken care of.

In line with their inclusive practices, Burleigh Beach has created an ‘Environmental Educational Garden’ to provide entertainment, relaxation and education opportunities to guests. Additionally, the park has embarked on a project to enhance its existing 2 Bedroom Accessible Cabin.

Burleigh Beach's commitment to amazing service has resulted in maintaining its #1 ranking on Tripadvisor for campsites in Burleigh and #2 for speciality lodging.

Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park

🏆 Winner: Tidy Park Award

Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park is dedicated to maintaining a clean and tidy environment as part of their sustainability efforts and commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

The park has employed a range of innovative actions including recycling initiatives, sustainable landscaping, water conservation, eco-friendly practices, and staff training to uphold cleanliness standards and maintain the park's natural beauty.

The team has embraced the Containers for Change program, which has led to the recycling of over 72,000 cans, reducing waste and promoting environmental awareness amongst guests. Additionally, the park has implemented a thoughtful approach to design and landscaping, such as using permeable paving materials to manage stormwater and prevent erosion, to ensure both guests and nature can coexist harmoniously.

Through the development of strategic design, landscaping, and tidy park initiatives, Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park has enhanced the park's overall guest satisfaction rates, leading to repeat visitation and an increase in occupancy rates and revenue by 4%.

Ocean Beach Tourist Park

🥈 Silver: People's Choice Award - Caravan Park of the Year

Following the CPAQ Awards, the Caravan Industry Association of Australia held it's annual Awards recognising outstanding achievements and innovations throughout the industry nationwide. Ocean Beach Tourist Park took home Silver in the ReviewPro People's Choice Award - Caravan Park of the Year.

This award recognises parks based on ReviewPro’s 'Global Review Index', an online reputation score from major travel agencies and review sites. It celebrates great visitor experiences, exceptional customer service and consistently exceeding guest expectations.

Brooke Turner, Broadwater Tourist Park

Brooke Turner from Broadwater Tourist Park was also recognised at the national level as a Finalist in the Future Leaders award.

Brooke is well known amongst the guests at Broadwater for putting on fantastic activities and events during the school holidays and winter period. Her exceptional guest service in her role at reception, along with her knack for securing outstanding partnerships, consistently adds immense value to each guest's stay. Brooke's commitment to creating memorable experiences for guests has truly set her apart.

This recognition is a testament to her hard work, passion, and the positive impact she has on both the team and guests. Brooke plays a significant role in making Broadwater Tourist Park a top-notch destination and keeps guests returning year after year.
