Big shout out to the team at Tallebudgera Creek for earning a Highly Commended nod in the Outstanding Host Award! As one of Queensland’s busiest parks, things can get hectic—but the team never loses sight of what matters most: creating a warm, welcoming space for every guest.

Over the past 18 months, they’ve tackled major infrastructure upgrades across all 385 sites—electrical, water, and sullage—with honesty, empathy, and a whole lot of teamwork. Even when things got tricky, the crew kept guests informed, calm, and smiling. Their service-first attitude, resilience, and genuine care have not only kept guests coming back, but also brought the team even closer together. We couldn’t be prouder!

We’re proud to celebrate Burleigh Beach for receiving the Good Corporate Citizen Award! This recognition highlights their incredible efforts to make tourism more inclusive and accessible for everyone.

Since the launch of Queensland’s Year of Accessible Tourism in 2023, the team at Burleigh has stepped up in a big way—investing in accessible cabin upgrades, adding a Sand-Cruizer beach wheelchair, and partnering with organisations like Spinal Life Australia and Xavier Children’s Network to offer free beachside holidays to those who need it most. Their commitment to accessibility goes beyond infrastructure—it’s about creating meaningful, memorable experiences for all guests.

By embracing national and state strategies and the Federal Government’s 'Welcome Framework', Burleigh Beach Tourist Park is setting the standard for what it means to be a truly inclusive and community-minded destination.

🏆Simon Warner Memorial Young Achiever of the Year

Winner: Matt McDonald, Broadwater Tourist Park

At just 24 years of age, Matt is excelling as Park Manager at Broadwater, prioritising safety, fairness, and support, and advocating for staff needs. He never asks his team to do something he wouldn’t do himself, whether it’s unclogging toilets, helping clean a cabin or tasks too disgusting to mention! He’s all about supporting his team and creating a workplace where everyone feels valued. That down-to-earth, lead-by-example style has earned him the trust and respect of the crew—and made him a cornerstone of the Broadwater family.
