Recycling for a greener future

We’re on a mission to help reduce landfill waste and promote responsible and sustainable tourism. Over the last few years, our parks have developed a partnership with Containers for Change – a recycling program that positively impacts our environment and the local community. We’ve expanded this partnership, rolling out dozens of Containers for Change bins across all 7 of our mainland parks. This expanded partnership not only supports our mission to minimize environmental impact but also empowers our guests to play an active role in sustainability during their stay.

How it works

Dedicated bins are located at every bin bay across our parks, where guests can conveniently dispose of their eligible drink containers. Our local recycling partner, Express Recycling, then collects the containers and delivers them to their depots across the Gold Coast. Here they are sorted, transported for processing, then recycled into a whole range of products including new bottles, roads, bikes and even clothes!

Our contribution

Through their container refunds, each park is making a unique contribution to give back to the community and their guests. Broadwater Tourist Park contributes to the Leukaemia Foundation, while Burleigh Beach reinvests into their Environmental Education Garden and nature-based activities for their guests. Other initiatives across our parks include reinvestment into guest activity programs and contributing to local surf clubs and community groups.

Together with Containers for Change, we are working towards creating eco-friendly destinations where people can enjoy nature without compromising its future. We are excited about the positive environmental impact this partnership will generate, and we look forward to making our parks a more sustainable place.
