1. Surfing on the Gold Coast

Whether you have been doing it since you first learn 't to swim or you want to just give it a go, you can't beat the world-class surfing beaches of the Gold Coast. From Snapper Rocks at Coolangatta, through Kirra Beach or Currumbin Alley, up to Burleigh Beach, Mermaid Beach and even the iconic Surfers Paradise, you will be spoilt for choice. For beginners we recommend booking in with one of the local surf schools who will meet you at your chosen beach and get you riding those waves before you know it!

With the Oceanway walking path having it's highly anticipated upgrades at Burleigh, Tallebudgerra and Currumbin, it is now easier to get out there and enjoy our gorgeous coastline. The highlights we recommend are the lookout points that you can find along the way. With North Burleigh and Tumgun Lookout at Burleigh Heads National Park right on our doorstep, you won't have to walk far for some breath taking views. Make sure you wake up early and welcome in the day with sunrise views over Burleigh Headland and Tallebudgerra creek!

5. Whale Watching

With Humpback Whale migration season running from June to October, all along the Gold Coast, you really can't go past catching these majestic mammals as they move up and down the coast to their breeding fields. With daily tours running from Autumn to Spring you are guaranteed to catch a good show, with whales breaching and tails splashing. If you're lucky you might even see a calf playing, as they move back South in the later months. With so much activity you might even catch some breaches as you walk along the beach, hang out at Burleigh Headland or take in the view at some of our coastal venues and surf clubs!
