Nestled along the southern waterways of Moreton Bay, Jacobs Well Tourist Park is a peaceful escape for fishing and boating lovers. Just 15 minutes off the Pacific Highway through scenic sugarcane fields, we’re right in the heart of town across from the tavern and shops. You’ll find everything you need within walking distance, including a public boat ramp, swimming enclosure, skate park, tennis courts and even a dog-friendly beach.

Love the water? You’re in the right place. The public boat ramp is just steps away, offering easy access to the islands and calm channels of southern Moreton Bay. Whether you're chasing whiting, bream, or flathead, the fishing here is fantastic all year round.

Bringing your boat or jet ski? Our spacious sites are perfect for you – check out our Large Powered and Large Unpowered Waterview Sites for the best fit.

Dog-Friendly Haven

We’re proud to be a dog-friendly park year round! Your furry friends will love our fenced off-leash area, and the nearby dog-friendly beach is perfect for a splash. During peak times, a mobile dog groomer visits the park – check our events calendar for dates. And don’t miss the dog-friendly beer garden at Jacobs Well Bayside Tavern – tail wags guaranteed!

Attractions & Local Events

Looking for adventure? The Gold Coast’s famous theme parks are just 25 minutes away, and Surfers Paradise is only a 40-minute drive.

Jacobs Well also hosts some fantastic local events, like the popular Harrigan’s Rod and Custom Show in October. Our park is the perfect base to enjoy all the action while relaxing in comfort.

Activities

Organised activities are offered in select periods. Information on upcoming activities is available from reception, via notice boards, guest notices and social media.

Amenities

Please refer to the site map for the location of amenity buildings. Hot water is available for showers, washing machines and basins. Please consider others, limit showers and help conserve water.

The amenity blocks are cleaned at least twice a day and may be closed at these times. Please refer to the signs at each facility for cleaning hours, with other times as required.

Children 12 years old must be supervised by an adult.

Bathrooms

Accessible / Parents’ bathroom

There is an accessible bathroom located at the amenity block. Access is with a pin code from reception.

Bikes, ride-on equipment and motorised toys

For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, only standard bikes and scooters are allowed to be ridden in the park during daylight hours. Road rules must be observed and a safety helmet worn at all times, as required by Queensland law. See reception staff for approval of all other ride-on equipment and motorised toys, or for suggested locations to safely use these items.

Boat and Car wash facility

Located next to reception. Please check with reception for current water restrictions.

Boom gates

Boom gates are for your security. Please follow directions and do not give your security pin to others.

Cabin Care

Please report all damage, breakages and losses promptly to our park reception. We ask you to please leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy state. Rubbish should be placed neatly in bins provided (in the accommodation and throughout the park). All washing up to be done and put away clean. Additional cleaning charges and full replacement costs may apply where furniture and equipment is not left as originally found or the accommodation condition on departure is unacceptable. Guests are responsible for the safekeeping and replacement of lost keys.

Camp kitchen and barbeques

The park map indicates location of the camp kitchen and barbeques. Please respect others, clean up after use and remove only your food from the fridge. Do not place water bottles or ice in the freezer or cooler bags in the fridge. Alcohol, medications, bait and burley are not allowed in the camp fridges and the camp kitchens are smoke-free environments.

Occupancy after this time will be charged as an additional day.

Late check outs – depend on availability. See reception for fees and availability. Site fees are calculated until 10am on the day of departure. If your travel arrangements are inconvenienced by these times, please contact reception to see if alternative arrangements can be made.

Chemical dump point

A chemical toilet dump is provided in the park. Dumping of toilet waste in any other area of the park is strictly prohibited.

Children

Supervising children is vital for their safety and helps make sure they do not disturb other guests.

Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult when visiting the amenities and all other park facilities.

Conditions of entry

As part of the conditions of entry to our park, guests are to abide by Park Rules. These are available from reception or on our website Park Rules page.

Evacuation procedures

In an emergency, follow the directions of staff. If we need to evacuate the park make your way directly to our evacuation area – marked ‘Assembly area’ on the map.

Fees

Fees must be paid in advance. Your unique boom gate code is for one vehicle only. Access is controlled by an Anti-Passback system and is subject to fees paid in advance.

Fires

Open fires are permitted, but must be contained in a suitable receptacle approved by Park Management. A suitable fire pit may be hired from reception for $10 per night. Suitable fire pits are raised off the ground and are fully enclosed or have a mesh lid. All ash and coals are to be removed from site.

Garbage/litter

Please help us look after our environment by using the rubbish and recycling bins located throughout the park for your convenience. Wrap all garbage prior to disposal.

Gas bottle exchange

A gas bottle exchange service is available at reception.

Kiosk

The kiosk stocks a variety of grocery items, toiletries, milk, lollies, cold drinks, ice creams, camping and fishing supplies. Ice also available.

Laundry

There are coin-operated machines and dryers in the main amenity blocks. They take $1 coins – change and washing powder is available from reception. Irons and ironing boards are free. Collect clothes from washing lines when dry and remove washing from machines when cycle finishes. Washing dishes is not permitted in the laundry, sinks are available at the barbeque area.

Lost and found

Report lost or found items immediately to reception.

Mail and messages

Mail and messages will be held at reception and the recipient’s name will appear on the mail board until collection. Mail can be posted via the post box at the park entry.

Noise

Quiet time is between 9pm to 8am. Consider your neighbours by keeping the volume down on radios, televisions and social gatherings. Excessive noise or abusive language will not be tolerated and can result in guests or visitors being asked to leave immediately.

Personal information

We are required to comply with the Information Privacy Act 2009. Any information you have supplied to us is only used for the purpose that it was collected for. We will not disclose your personal information (including confirming whether or not you are staying in the park) to any person. Should anyone wish to visit you while you are staying in the park, we recommend you contact them to advise where you are located in the park, as we will not pass on this information.

Pets

Dogs are welcome on application with guests staying in our 2 Bedroom Dog Friendly Cabins and on powered sites in our special dog friendly area. Guests are responsible for ensuring their pet is kept on a leash and away from all park amenities and facilities including the camp kitchen. A poop bag dispenser is conveniently located in the Park. Placement of caravans

We will help you place your caravan on your site. To comply with fire regulations, all vans MUST have the drawbar facing toward the road.

Security

We’d like your holiday to be enjoyable. Holidaying is a great time to get to know your neighbours and keep an eye out for each other’s belongings.

Your security is important to us. We recommend you keep your possessions, vehicles and accommodation safely secured at all times. If you have any concerns, please speak to one of our friendly staff.

Site cleanliness and boundaries

Please keep your site tidy and use the facilities provided to dry clothes, discharge sullage water and dispose of rubbish. Make sure your caravan, car and camping equipment stay within your site boundaries. Ropes or fastenings must not be tied to trees, fences or park structures.

It is your responsibility to position your camping equipment so that your vehicle fits on your site. If it doesn’t fit, it must be parked outside the park.

Vehicles – drive with care

The safety of all guests is vital. Please adhere to the eight-kilometre speed limit (walking pace) within the park. Park roads are shared zones. Please follow all road signage and give way to pedestrians.

Site fees include one vehicle only. Additional vehicles can be parked in the visitors’ car park. Speak to reception for approval and cost of an additional vehicle on site.

Water conservation

Please conserve water by keeping your showers short and reporting leaking taps to our reception staff.

Parking

Visitor and cabin parking is uncovered with no overhead obstacles. There is a designated accessible parking bay in the visitors parking area in addition to the standard 2.5m parking bays. Level access from the visitor parking to the main entrance, amenities and the cabins is via the sealed Park roadways and access ramps.

Reception

Access to reception/kiosk is via a 1170mm wide timber ramp which is suitable for prams and wheelchairs. The reception entry is through a 1200mm wide glass, manual sliding door with a 10mm high lip. Flooring is tiled and the reception desk height is 1100mm. There is seating available outside the reception door, under cover.

Accessible Amenities

Park amenities are accessed via a 1170mm wide timber ramp with hand rail, or alternatively 3 stairs. Internal floors are tiles with a non-slip surface. Entrance signs and keypads are equipped with braille.

  Fold down bench seat and grab rails provided.
• Sink : 860mm high with lever tap
• Baby change bath and bench : 850mm high

2 Bedroom Cabin - Easy Access

Positioned in beautiful, natural surroundings, the 2 Bedroom Cabin offers enjoyable water views. The cabins does not meet current fully accessible standards, however it does have ease of access features including a ramp leading to the front door for easy wheelchair access, and an equipped bathroom.

Cabin Entry and Patio

• Entry ramp: 1033mm wide
• Cabin entry: 2 sliding glass doors each with a clear opening of 775mm and a threshold ramp
• Outdoor BBQ and sink height: 870mm

Living and Kitchen Area

• Open plan with ample turning space for wheelchairs and prams
• Kitchen bench height: 800mm
• Flooring: vinyl laminate

Bedrooms

• Main bedroom: 780mm door opening. Features a queen bed and fixed bedside tables.
• Second bedroom: 720mm door opening. Features a single bed and no bedside tables.

Bathrooms

• Door opening: 830mm
• Shower space: no recess and measures 1100mm x 1100mm
• Adjustable shower head, fold down bench and grab rails
• Sink height: 800mm

Please note that neither bedroom nor bathroom areas are wheelchair accessible.

Camp Kitchen

The Park’s camp kitchen is sheltered with open sides to invite in the surrounding views. The smaller front access is fully accessible by wheelchair, whilst the side access involves a 50mm high concrete step up from the grassed area. Bench, barbeque and sink height is 980mm. The sink is recessed 330mm from the front of the bench.

Service Animals

Registered service animals are welcome in all areas of the Park. There is an off leash exercise area adjacent to the Tourist Park. The Jacobs Well Vet Surgery is located approximately 300m away.

Staff / Assistance

Park staff are available 24/7 via the call button at Reception if the office is closed. All staff are trained in First Aid and the Jacobs Well Medical Practice is across the road from the Tourist Park. The Gold Coast University Hospital is a 25 minute drive from the Park.

Pet Friendly Guidelines

Your furry family members are welcomed at Jacobs Well Tourist Park! To ensure that you, your dog, and the rest of our guests enjoy their stay in a clean and healthy environment, please refer to the following Pet Friendly Guidelines and Waiver and sign prior to arrival.

• Pet friendly accommodation:
  • Designated dog friendly sites and two bedroom cabins are available at Jacobs Well.
  • Bookings will not be accepted where a guest is staying in a tent with a dog.

• Certain breeds of dog are not permitted entry into any Gold Coast Tourist Park. Please refer to the Queensland Restricted Dog List
• Maximum dogs per booking:
  • Sites: 2 dogs
  • Cabins: 1 dog
• Dogs must be up to date on all vaccinations. Proof of vaccinations/certificates are required prior to arrival.
• Dogs must comply with local legislation requirements and must be registered with local council from where they reside.
• Dogs may only be left unattended for short periods when the owner is using a facility where dogs are not permitted. Dogs must remain secure and not cause a disturbance.
• Guest(s) are responsible for cleaning up after their dog on Park property and in the neighbourhood. A poop bag dispenser is located in the Park(s).
• Dogs must be well mannered and appropriately restrained by the guest at all times.
• Any disturbances such as barking, must be curtailed to ensure other guests and neighbouring residents are not inconvenienced. You may be asked to leave if noise continues.
• If the dog acts in any way considered aggressive, dangerous, or destructive, the Park Managers have the right to ask guests to leave the Park, in which case they will not be entitled to any refund.
• Guest(s) are responsible for all property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet. The Park reserves the right to charge the guest’s account commensurate to the cost of such damages.
• Guest(s) and dog owner(s) agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gold Coast Tourist Parks, its managers, their staff and City of Gold Coast from all liability, loss and damage suffered as a result of the guest’s dog. Furthermore, the guest(s) and dog owner(s) agree to solely accept all liability, financial or otherwise which may result in dog loss from disease, death, theft, fire, the running away of any dog or any other unavoidable circumstance.

Whilst Jacobs Well Tourist Park happily welcomes dogs year-round, the park is not entirely dog friendly. During your stay, please ensure that your furry family member stays within the designated dog friendly areas and is under your control at all times. Pets are not permitted in the public areas of the park including, but not limited to the camp kitchen or barbeque areas, cabins, lodges and amenities. Please refer to the Park Map for the dog friendly areas.

Jacobs Well Campfire Guidelines

Campfires are permitted at Jacobs Well Tourist Park. To ensure that you, your guests, and the rest of our Park guests enjoy their stay in a safe environment, please refer to the following guidelines and sign the Campfire Guidelines and Waiver prior to arrival.

1. The campfire must be contained in a suitable receptacle approved by Tourist Park management:
   1. Suitable fire receptacles must be raised off the ground, are fully enclosed or have a mesh lid. For guests without the appropriate fire receptacle, the Tourist Park has a limited supply which can be hired for a minimal nightly fee.
2. The campfire must be kept within the confines of the receptacle.
3. The use of campfires is at the Park Managers discretion and/or local authorities’ direction.
4. Campfires are not permitted during major weather events like storms, excessive winds or where a total fire ban is in place. Directives from the Tourist Park management and/or local Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) authorities are final.
5. Campfires must be located at the front of the site, away from overhanging branches, gardens and at least three (3) metres away from camping equipment and other flammable items.
6. Starting a campfire – suitable ignition sources:
   1. Matches, fire lighters or fire starters
   2. Paper or small kindling
7. Banned ignition sources – all kinds of flammable liquids (such as petrol)
8. Glass, rubbish, flammable liquids, or explosive items are not permitted in or near the campfire.
9. Types of fuel allowed to be used:
   1. Seasoned dry firewood
   2. Untreated timbers
   3. Commercial coals
10. Collection of firewood or kindling from the park or adjacent reserves is prohibited as it forms an important part of the park and surrounding natural environment.
11. Campfires are not to be left unattended at any time.
12. Extinguishing the campfire:
    1. Guests need to ensure there is enough water close by to extinguish the campfire; and
    2. Must extinguish and the embers cooled with water prior to sleep or leaving the site.
    3. Note: Never use soil or sand to extinguish the campfire as embers can remain hot and can cause a bushfire, burn or injury.
13. Children of any age must not be left unsupervised near a campfire.
14. To keep smoke nuisance to a minimum so not to impact other guests, only dry fuel (firewood/timber etc.) must be used.
15. Under no circumstances is hot ash to be disposed of in the bins, gardens, or waterways around the park.
16. Those guests not abiding by the conditions of use or are behaving in a reckless nature with or around the campfire may be asked to leave the park and potentially jeopardise any future stays at Gold Coast Tourist Parks.
