Last week, the Caravan Parks Association of Queensland Conference (CPAQ) returned for its 2022 show. We were all very excited about catching up with industry leaders, our fellow tourist parks and finding out who would leave with the multiple awards being presented at this years' conference!
We had such a fantastic outcome! Our team was nominated for 8 awards over the conference, 5 of which made it to the finalists. Thanks to everyone's amazing work and love towards our parks (and their incredible efforts), 4 out 5 went home with prizes. The winners included:
1. Inaugural Ron Chapman Award for Excellence
The Ron Chapman Award for Excellence is determined using the “Global Review Index”, which is an online reputation score based on data taken from all major online travel agencies and Reviewpro. This award was presented to the CPAQ park member with a minimum number of reviews that achieves the top “Global Review Index” score in the Queensland.
That’s why we were ecstatic to announce that the Ocean Beach Tourist Park, Took away the Inaugural Ron Chapman Award for Excellence Winner for 2022.

5. 2022 Bronze People’s Choice Caravan Park of the Year (2022 National industry awards)
Ocean Beach Tourist Park also went on to become winners at the national conference, taking home the 2022 Bronze People’s Choice Caravan Park of the Year. Such a fantastic effort from the team.
Also one more special mention to Brooke Turner from Broadwater Tourist Park who did inspiring presentation on main stage at this year's conference, sharing her life growing up in the industry, where she sees the future of the industry heading and how to get more young people interested in a career in the caravanning and camping industry.
This is a huge effort from all those involved and is testament to the positive work culture of the Gold Coast Tourist Parks that we are so proud of.
Congratulations to everyone, you’re all awesome!
