Gold Coast Tourist Parks take great pride in communicating with every guest pre, during and post stay. We encourage guests to read all Tourist Park communication (email or SMS) at time received, to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.
After making a booking, please read the confirmation email to ensure your details and stay dates are correct. If there are any errors, please contact the park immediately so the appropriate changes can be made prior to your arrival. If you haven’t received an email within a couple of hours after booking, check your spam folder or call the park directly.
Your primary purpose for staying at Gold Coast Tourist Parks must be for holidays.
Gold Coast Tourist Parks Terms & Conditions are subject to change without notice.
Conditions of entry
For the comfort, safety, and enjoyment for all valued guests, we request that everyone entering the park abide by the Terms & Conditions and Park Rules. Those guests not abiding by these may be asked to leave the park and potentially jeopardise any future stays at Gold Coast Tourist Parks.
As governed under the City of Gold Coast Subordinate Local Law No. 9.2 (Public Camping Areas) 2008, a guest may not let or hire a camp site, tent or caravan to another person.
Identification
On check-in, please present a photo ID, driver’s licence, or passport. The ID must match the name that appears on the booking. For late arrivals (afterhours), please visit reception the following morning to present your ID.

Please refer to our contact page as operating hours vary at each Tourist Park.
Check-in and check-out times
To ensure a seamless transition between departing and arriving guests, we ask all guests to abide by the following check-in and check-out times. This will allow our teams time to ensure the Tourist Park is in the best condition possible for arriving guests.
Sites
- Check-in: 11am
- Check-out: 10am
Ensuites
- Check-in: 12pm
- Check-out: 10am
Cabins and lodges
- Check-in: 2pm
- Check-out: 10am
Island Shacks (South Stradbroke Island)
- Check-in: 11am
- Check-out: 10am
During busy change over days, your cabin or lodge may not be ready at 2pm sharp. We ask for your patience and rest assured our team is committed to checking you in ASAP. Should your room not be ready at 2pm, you are welcomed to use the park services and facilities.
Note: Check-ins are not available on Christmas Day.
Pre Check-in procedures
Some Tourist Parks offer a pre check-in service. Prior to arrival, you will receive an email on how to complete the pre check-in. Once all pre check-in information has been completed, you may receive your express entry into the park. If no confirmation has been received or if you are staying in a cabin, lodge or ensuite, you will need to check in at reception.
Guests who receive the express check-in are requested to present ID at reception after site set up.
Arrivals and departures
Early arrivals
Should you arrive on the Gold Coast earlier than expected, please call the park prior to arriving. If an early check-in isn’t available, please wait until the standard check-in time before arriving at the park.
Late arrivals
Please contact the Tourist Park directly to make alternative arrangements to enter afterhours. For the consideration of other guests, arrival after 8.30pm is not permitted.
Late departures
Late departures must be arranged with the park reception on the day of departure (subject to availability).
- Up until 4pm: 50% of the nightly rate will apply (payable direct)
- After 4pm: A full nights rate will apply (payable direct)
Rates and additional charges
Rates are dynamic and vary based on accommodation category, travel dates and length of stay. For further details, check the website or contact the Tourist Park directly.
Additional charges
Extra guests
- Adults (16+ years): $15 per person per night
- Children (4-15 years): $10 per person per night
- Infants (3 years and under): cot charge may apply and payable direct
South Stradbroke Island
- Extra guests for sites (4+ years): $6 per person per night
- Extra guests for Island Shacks (4+ years): $12 per person per night
- Day visitors: $6 per visitor
Extra vehicles (subject to site availability)
- Low occupancy: $7 per vehicle per day
- High occupancy: $15 per vehicle per day
As the Tourist Park has limited space, any requests for adding an extra vehicle to your booking may not be possible. You may need to consider alternative offsite parking options near the park.
Group bookings
Please contact the park directly via phone or email to make a group booking. Special conditions apply.
Booking periods
Peak: School holidays, public holidays, long weekends, and special events.
Off-peak: Dates outside of the peak periods.
Payment Terms
Broadwater, Ocean Beach, and Main Beach Tourist Parks
A deposit for first night is required at the time of booking to secure your stay. The balance of payment is required for the following periods:
- Off-peak: Balance of payment advised at the time of booking.
- Easter School Holidays: Balance of payment is due by 25 February.
- September School Holidays: Balance of payment is due by 31 July.
- Christmas School Holidays: Balance of payment is due by 31 October.
Jacobs Well, Burleigh Beach, Tallebudgera Creek, and Kirra Beach Tourist Parks
- Off-peak: Deposit for first night is payable at the time of booking. Balance of payment is due upon arrival.
- Peak: Full payment is due at the time of booking.
- Bookings made within 7 days of stay: Full payment is due at the time of booking.
Tipplers, North and South Currigee Campgrounds
- Year-round: Full payment is due at the time of booking.
Other periods: Payment terms may vary for long weekends, special events, long stays of 28 nights or more, and other times of the year not specified. Please ask our friendly Tourist Park teams at the time of booking and check your confirmation email for the payment terms.

Special offers and promotions
Terms & Conditions may vary for special offers and promotions. Please refer to the respective offer/s on the website.
Cancellation Terms
All cancellations must be received in writing/email unless otherwise advised.
Off-peak
- Cancellations within 28 days or less: Deposit paid is forfeited
Peak
- Cancellations between 40 days – 29 days prior: 25% of total value of booking is charged
- Cancellations between 28 days – 15 days: 50% of total value of booking is charged
- Cancellations 14 days or less: No Refund
Mid-stay departures or no shows
- No refund will be given if a guest decides to leave during their stay.
- No shows - The Tourist Park management reserves the right to cancel bookings by 10am the next day. Please contact the park should there be a delay to your scheduled arrival date.
Refunds
Refund requests must be received in writing/email. Any refunds will be at the discretion of Tourist Park management. Any money entitled to the guest after applying the Cancellation Terms may be held in credit for a future booking.
- When the same credit card is available, the refund will be processed by Park Management into the same card used for the booking. Please allow 3-5 business days for funds to reach your account.
- When the credit card is no longer available, or payment was made with a savings card, a bank statement which includes the BSB, account number and your name must be sent to Park Management. Please allow 5-10 business days for the funds to reach your bank account.
Credits
A credit may be available at the discretion of Park Management based on special circumstances. No credit is available if a guest simply changes their mind, or they booked the wrong accommodation. Credit can be redeemed at the same park that your original booking was held. Credit can only be used for accommodation (excludes food and beverage and other products or services). Credit is non-refundable, non-transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
The credit along with an applicable expiry date will be added to your guest account. Once a booking with new dates has been made, no further changes to this booking can be made or the credit will be forfeited.
Length of stay
Minimum
- Off-peak: 2-night stay. A one-night stay may be accepted (subject to availability)
- Peak: Minimum stays vary. Contact the Tourist Park directly for details.
Maximum
- Year-round: 42 nights at a park (6 consecutive weeks)
Extensions to stay longer may be granted at the discretion of Park Management. Any extension will be subject to availability, and guests continuing to abide by the Terms & Conditions. Your primary purpose for staying at Gold Coast Tourist Parks must be for holidays.
Maximum capacity
Occupancy on sites or in accommodation (cabins or lodges) shall not exceed the maximum number of guests allowed. Additional fees will apply for extra guests not declared on the booking registration documentation.
The maximum number of guests varies depending on the bedding configurations in the cabins and lodges. Please refer to the website for details.
Persons under 18 years of age
All guests under 18 years of age must be staying under the same booking as their parent or guardian. Gold Coast Tourist Parks do not cater for school leaver celebrations. We reserve the right to deny entry and cancel reservations where all guests are under 18 years of age.
Allocation of sites and cabins
While every effort is made by our park teams to accommodate preferred sites or cabins, this is not guaranteed. There may be a requirement to change the site or accommodation due to operational reasons, unscheduled maintenance etc.
Equipment sizing
Sites are allocated based on the size of your equipment (van, caravan, camper trailer etc.). At the time of booking, please provide the total measurement of your equipment, including drawbar, attachments (bike racks etc.) and/or slide outs (side and rear).
Any incorrect information may cause a delay in your holiday until Park Management can find you a suitable site. Cancellation of your booking is possible if an alternative site is not available.
Large vehicles
Please notify the Tourist Park team at the time of booking if your vehicle length exceeds 5 metres.
Speed limit
The speed limit is 8km/h. This applies to ALL vehicles, including bikes and other rideable devices.
Pedestrians have right of way at all times.
Parking
Provisions at each Tourist Park have been made for the following:
- Sites: 1 car park
- 2-bedroom cabins and lodge accommodation: 1 car park
- 3-bedroom cabins: 2 car parks
Extra vehicle charges (subject to site availability)
- Low occupancy: $7 per vehicle per day
- High occupancy: $15 per vehicle per day
There may be limited parking bays for extra vehicles (including boats, jet skis etc.) and an additional fee may apply. Please contact the park directly for more details.
For the consideration of other guests, please ensure your vehicle is parked in the allocated parking space or on your site so it doesn’t obstruct or is likely to obstruct the flow of traffic within the Tourist Park.
Bicycles, non-motorised scooters, and other rideable devices
- The 8km/h speed limit applies and all road rules must be observed.
- Riding is permitted during daylight hours ONLY.
- Riding at night is NOT permitted.
- A safety helmet must be always worn, as required by Queensland law.
- Ride on the park roads only. Riding around amenities, facilities and pathways is not permitted. Please dismount when moving through these sections of the park
- Remember: Pedestrians have right of way at all times.
Prohibited items
The following items are prohibited in Gold Coast Tourist Parks:
- E-scooters, e-bikes, and other electric rideable devices (i.e. skateboards, hoverboards)
- Skateboards and Ripstiks
- Drones
- Generators
- Power tools
- Smokers, wood, or coal fired BBQ’s
- Open or naked fires (exception Jacobs Well and South Stradbroke Island Campgrounds)
- Pets (exception Jacobs Well and Kirra Beach)
- Unregistered or undriveable vehicles, vans, or trailers
Should a guest be caught using any of these items, you will be asked to leave the park and potentially jeopardise any future stays at Gold Coast Tourist Parks.
Electrical safety and supply
- Please do not place anything on top or against the powerhead.
- Pegs or anchor stakes can only be driven into the ground to a maximum depth of 400mm, to avoid damage to underground electricity, water, and communication services.
- Lithium-ion batteries – When charging devices powered by lithium-ion batteries, please do not leave them unattended at any time. Lithium-ion battery powered devices include but are not limited to mobile phones, laptops, vacuum cleaners, and children’s toys. For more safety information, please visit the QFES website.
- Only 15-amp power cords with 15-amp terminals at each end shall be used to connect to the parks’ electrical supply outlets. Any supply lead used should be between 10 meters (minimum) and 15 meters (maximum) in length.
- Electricity will only be supplied to tents and camper trailers without fixed inlet points where an approved earth leakage safety cut out device is connected to the main supply line.
- Connection Guidelines to be noted by guests (as per AS/NZS 3001:2008 Electrical Installations - Transportable structures and vehicles including their site supplies).
Security and emergency procedures
Emergency
In an emergency, please immediately call 000 and then notify Park Management.
Security
Out of sight, out of mind is a great starting point. Your safety and security are important. We recommend keeping of all your possessions and accommodation safely secured. We recommend removing the front bike wheel and storing it in your vehicle or accommodation. If you see anyone looking suspicious, please don’t approach them. Contact the park team immediately in person or via the afterhours mobile. If you have experienced a theft, please notify the Queensland Police Service on Ph: 3055 6206 and Tourist Park management.
Evacuation Procedures
In the unlikely event of an emergency, follow the directions of staff. If the park needs to be evacuated, make your way directly to the ‘Assembly Area’ marked on the Tourist Park map.
Gift vouchers
At the time of booking, guests must confirm the voucher number and present the original voucher upon check-in along with a government issued photo ID.
- Vouchers may only be redeemed by persons 18 years of age or older
- Vouchers are not transferable
- Vouchers are not wholly or partly redeemable for cash
- Each voucher must be redeemed in one reservation only
Pets and assistance animals
Pet Friendly Parks
If you are holidaying with your dog, the following Tourist Parks are designated dog friendly:
- Jacobs Well Tourist Park – dedicated pet friendly sites
- Kirra Beach Tourist Park – dedicated pet friendly sites and cabins
Please ensure you read and adhere to the Pet Friendly Guidelines. Note: All other Gold Coast Tourist Parks do not cater or have suitable facilities to accommodate pets.
Assistance animals
If you are travelling with an assistance or support animal, Tourist Park management must be notified at the time of booking. The appropriate assistance animal certification and documentation must be presented as proof that your animal qualifies as an assistance animal.
- As per Queensland government legislation, guests accompanied by a certified assistance/support animal must comply with the identification procedure. This includes having the approved identity card available for inspection and ensuring the animal is wearing an identifying coat or similar. Please refer to Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dogs Act 2009, Part 1, Division 3-12.
- If you are unable to produce acceptable evidence that your assistance/support animal is fully trained, you will be asked to complete a visitor entry declaration form, confirming that you take full responsibility for the animal's hygiene and behaviour. Should you not comply to any of the above measures, your assistance/support animal may be subject to the Pet Friendly Guidelines.
- Your assistance/support animal must be fully vaccinated and a copy of the current vaccination certificate must be presented.
- Your assistance/support animal must always remain under your control (or the control of someone else on your behalf) and it must respond to all commands.
- Assistance/support animals are allowed to enter swimming pools, playground enclosures etc, however, these animals are not allowed to enter the water or be on equipment.
- You will be responsible for any damage to property caused by your assistance/support animal that is beyond fair wear and tear.
- We may refuse entry to your assistance/support animal if we reasonably suspect that it has an infectious disease and it is reasonably necessary to exclude them to protect public health or the health of other animals.
Campfires
Campfires are permitted at Jacobs Well Tourist Park and our 3 South Stradbroke Island campgrounds: Tipplers, North and South Currigee.
By making a booking, you confirm that you have read and will adhere to the Campfire Guidelines. You declare that during your stay all guests on your site will abide by these guidelines to ensure your campfire is housed in the approved receptacle provided and operated in a safe manner, that doesn’t impact the campground, other guests, visitors, residents, or surrounding bushland.
Access to South Stradbroke Island
Access to Tipplers Campground and North and South Currigee Campgrounds is exclusively by boat.
