Main Beach Tourist Park - Renovations and Reopening Information

Main Beach Tourist Park temporarily closed on 3 February 2025 to allow for essential upgrades to underground services, including power and water supply. Renovations are now nearing completion, and we’re excited to reopen the park to guests on Friday, 19 December 2025.

When can I make a booking?

Online bookings for powered and ensuite sites open at 10am on Monday, 27 October 2025. Phone bookings will open on Monday, 3 November.

Can I book a cabin?

No, unfortunately our cabins will not be bookable yet. We’re still getting them in tip-top shape and will let you know as soon as they’re ready.

Can I book my regular site?

We get it - everyone has their favourite patch of paradise! While we can’t guarantee specific sites (they’ve all been renumbered during the renovations), we’ll do our best to get you close to where you want to be. Just let us know your preferred area when you make a booking.

Note: You will be allocated a site based on the size of your setup.

Can I make a group booking?

Yes! Group bookings must be made over the phone, so give us a ring on 3 November when our phones are up and running.

How far in advance can I make a booking?

Once online bookings open up, you can make a booking up to 12 months in advance.

What's changed in the park?

We’ve upgraded our underground services, including power and water supply, to keep up with future demand. A few upgrades have been made above ground as well, including new synthetic turf on the ensuite sites, new cabin furniture, and a refreshed games room.

Will the park have Wi-Fi?

Not just yet! When we reopen, Wi-Fi won’t be available - but think of it as the perfect excuse to unplug, soak up the sunshine, and spend quality time with your favourite people.

Has the parking situation changed?

Yes. Since our renovations, we no longer have an overflow car park. This means that each site is limited to 1 vehicle and it must fit on your site. If you're planning to bring extra cars, trailers, or larger setups, please reach out to our team before booking.

Cabin parking:

  • Acccessible Cabins - 2 car spaces
  • 3 Bedroom Cabins - 2 car spaces
  • All other cabins and studios - 1 car space

Did you upgrade the pool or playground?

Not this time. The renovations focused on the underground works including power and water supply. While we’d love to refresh the pool and playground too, we had to tackle the essentials first.

Have the cabins been renovated?

Not yet. While the cabins have not been fully renovated, we’ve updated the furniture and made a few minor upgrades to keep things comfy and welcoming.

Can I smoke in the park?

No. Main Beach Tourist Park will now be 100% smoke and vape free.

We’ve listened to your feedback and are making this change to create a cleaner, healthier, and more relaxing environment for everyone. If you wish to smoke, you will need to exit the park.

Have the booking guidelines changed?

They have! When we reopen, bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis - so everyone gets a fair go at enjoying our parks.

Bookings will open at the end of each month, for stays up to 12 months ahead.

Scroll down to the Booking Guidelines section for all the details on booking windows, payment terms, minimum stays and more.

Are you dog-friendly?

No, Main Beach will not be dog-friendly. If you're keen to bring your pup along, check out Jacobs Well Tourist Park or Kirra Beach Tourist Park - they welcome pets year round!

Are the beaches open?

Absolutely! The beaches are open and ready for you to enjoy. Just a heads-up - access points have changed. The closest beach access to the Tourist Park is at Southport Surf Club, right across the road. You’ll also find another access point at lifeguard tower 39 on Breaker St.

Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park - 2025 Works Project

Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park is undergoing a works project in 2025 to improve and upgrade the essential underground services. These works will ensure the tourist park can manage future usage demands and prepare for exciting above ground projects. We are collaborating closely with the contractors to ensure these works will have minimal impact on our guests.

What works are being conducted?

Upgrades to the essential underground services including:

  • Electrical switchboards
  • Underground electrical cables
  • Potable water infrastructure
  • Fire water infrastructure
  • Wi-Fi

Whilst there will be subtle improvements above the ground like new power heads, street lighting, cabin refurbishments and site improvements, most of the works will be focused on upgrading and replacing the essential and underground services listed above.

When will the works take place?

The works project will be conducted over three stages between February 2025 and December 2025. Each stage will be managed outside of gazetted Queensland school holidays.

  • Stage 1: 4 February to 28 March 2025 (inclusive)
  • Stage 2: 29 April to 20 June 2025 (inclusive)
  • Stage 3: 7 October to 4 December 2025 (inclusive)

Dates are subject to change and may vary due to operational reasons or extreme weather.

How will the works impact my stay?

There will be minimal impact for most guests. If you would like further information about these works during your stay, please email tallyworks@gctp.com.au

What time will the works take place?

Monday–Friday between 7am and 5pm.

Should these times and/or days change, the park team will communicate this directly you at the time.

Will I still be able to use the park facilities and services during my stay?

Yes! Pools, amenities, laundry, reception, kiosk, and dump points will operate as normal during the works project.

There may be a requirement to close some facilities or services for a brief period. The team will communicate this via SMS or in person at the time.

Booking Guidelines

On 1 May 2024, new booking guidelines were implemented for a selection of Gold Coast Tourist Parks. Bookings for these parks are now taken on a first come, first served basis, to ensure that our parks are for everyone to experience and enjoy.

Why are the booking guidelines changing?

These changes have been implemented based on guest feedback and to support our goal that Gold Coast Tourist Parks are for everyone to experience and enjoy.

Bookings will open at the same time for everyone and will be taken on a first come, first served basis. This will create more equal opportunities for those wanting to holiday at our parks.

Does this apply to all Gold Coast Tourist Parks?

How will this impact my existing booking?

All existing bookings will be honoured. We look forward to welcoming you back to Gold Coast Tourist Parks.

Can I make a booking a year in advance?

Yes. Based on our monthly booking window, reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Bookings can be made online or direct as follows:

  • Online bookings will open from 6pm on the last day of the month*
  • Direct bookings will open from 8am on the first day of the month*

Example: The booking window will open on 30 April 2024 (online) and 1 May 2024 (direct) for bookings in May 2025.

*Exception: There will be no booking window on 31 December and 1 January. Any bookings for a stay in January will open at the same time as December bookings (30 November for online and 1 December for direct).

Can I book outside the monthly booking window?

Yes, you can book for any stay within the next 12 months.

If you are interested in staying during school holidays, long weekends, or special events, these dates may book out earlier so we recommend that you book during the initial booking window.

I am a regular guest. Will I get my preferred site?

The booking window opens at the same time for everyone and bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis.

While every effort is made by our park teams to accommodate preferred sites or cabins, this is not guaranteed. Read our Terms & Conditions for more.

Note: Some guests have longed to stay on a premium site or waterfront site and haven’t been able to in the past. Under this new booking procedure, you may secure a booking on one of these sites.

What if I am unable to secure a booking for my preferred dates?

If your preferred dates are unavailable, consider alternative dates or check availability at one of our other tourist parks.

I am a new guest. How will these booking guidelines impact me?

Bookings will open at the same time for everyone and will be taken on a first come, first served basis. This will create new opportunities for guests who have not been able to secure a booking with us.

Can I make a group booking?

Yes, please contact the park directly to make a group booking. Special conditions apply.
