Temporary Closure - Main Beach Tourist Park
Main Beach Tourist Park will be temporarily closed from 3 February 2025 for up to 12 months as the City of Gold Coast commences stage one of a multistage enhancement project.
Why is the park temporarily closing?
Gold Coast Tourist Parks have engaged the services of specialist contractors to report on the status of Main Beach Tourist Park's essential underground services. The report findings confirm that these services need to be upgraded to cater for the future requirements of the tourist park.
To expedite these works, Main Beach will be temporarily closed effective 3 February 2025 for up to 12 months. We understand the impact this may have for our guests, however these works are vital to ensure that this location can accommodate future usage demands.
What works are being done in the park?
Upgrades to the underground services, including power and water supply and Wi-Fi network.
Whilst there will be subtle improvements above the ground, the majority of the works during stage one will be focused on upgrading and replacing the essential underground services to ensure the tourist park can accommodate future usage demands.
When is the park reopening?
Early 2026. This date is subject to change. Guests will be notified of any changes to the reopening date.
Can I book for 2026?
Main Beach is currently not taking bookings from February 2025. Guests will be notified in advance by email when bookings reopen for Main Beach Tourist Park.
Upon reopening, Main Beach will be implementing new booking guidelines. Under these guidelines, bookings can be made up to 12 months in advance and will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Please see the Booking Guidelines FAQs below for further details.
