Activities

Organised activities are offered in select periods. Information on upcoming activities is available from reception, via notice boards, guest notices and social media.

Amenities

Please refer to the site map for the location of amenity buildings. Hot water is available for showers, washing machines and basins. Please consider others, limit showers and help conserve water.

The amenity blocks are cleaned at least twice a day and may be closed at these times. Please refer to the signs at each facility for cleaning hours, with other times as required.

Children under 12 years old must be supervised by an adult.

Bathrooms

Accessible bathroom

There is an accessible bathroom located at the bottom/1st amenity block only. Access is with a key from reception.

Parents’ bathroom

A parents’ bathroom is located at the Third Ave amenity block. Access is with a pin code from reception.

Bikes, ride-on equipment and motorised toys

For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, only standard bikes and scooters are allowed to be ridden in the park during daylight hours. Road rules must be observed and a safety helmet worn at all times, as required by Queensland law. See reception staff for approval of all other ride-on equipment and motorised toys, or for suggested locations to safely use these items.

Boom gates

Boom gates are for your security. Please follow directions and do not give your security pin to others.

Camp kitchen and barbeques

The park map indicates location of the camp kitchen and barbeques. Please respect others, clean up after use and remove only your food from the fridge. For security purposes, the fridges may be locked at 10pm and unlocked between 5am and 6am. Do not place water bottles or ice in the freezer or cooler bags in the fridge. Alcohol and medications are not allowed in the camp fridges and the camp kitchens are smoke-free environments.

Occupancy after this time will be charged as an additional day.

Late check outs – depend on availability. See reception for fees and availability. Site fees are calculated until 10am on the day of departure. If your travel arrangements are inconvenienced by these times, please contact reception to make alternative arrangements.

Children

Supervising children is vital for their safety and helps make sure they do not disturb other guests.

Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult when visiting the amenities and all other park facilities.

Conditions of entry

As part of the conditions of entry to our park, guests are to abide by Park Rules. These are available from reception or on our website Park Rules page.

Evacuation procedures

In an emergency, follow the directions of staff. If we need to evacuate the park make your way directly to our evacuation area – marked ‘Assembly area’ on the map.

Fees

Fees must be paid in advance. Your unique boom gate code is for one vehicle only. Access is controlled by an Anti-Passback system and is subject to fees paid in advance.

Garbage/litter

Please help us look after our environment by using the rubbish and recycling bins located throughout the park for your convenience. Wrap all garbage prior to disposal.

Gas refills

Decanting of gas is available from the kiosk between 8am and 4pm.

Information

For local information, where to eat, activities, events, how to get around and service providers ask our friendly staff in reception.

Items for hire

See reception for information on items available for hire; including go-karts. Enquire with staff about local hire companies for other items if required.

Kiosk

The kiosk stocks a variety of grocery items, toiletries, milk, bread, ice, papers, lollies, cold drinks, ice creams, beach items, etc.

Laundry

There are coin-operated machines and dryers in the main amenity blocks. They take $1 coins – change and washing powder is available from reception.

Irons and ironing boards are free. Collect clothes from washing lines when dry and remove washing from machines when cycle finishes. Washing dishes is not permitted in the laundry, sinks are available at the camp kitchen and some of the barbeque areas.

Lost and found

Report lost or found items immediately to reception.

Mail

Mail will be placed in mail boxes. Mail can be posted at reception.

Noise

Quiet time is between 9pm to 8am. Consider your neighbours by keeping the volume down on radios, televisions and social gatherings. Excessive noise or abusive language will not be tolerated and can result in guests or visitors being asked to leave immediately.

Personal information

We are required to comply with the Information Privacy Act 2009. Any information you have supplied to us is only used for the purpose that it was collected for. We will not disclose your personal information (including confirming whether or not you are staying in the park) to any person. Should anyone wish to visit you while you are staying in the park, we recommend you contact them to advise where you are located in the park, as we will not pass on this information.

Pets

Dogs are welcome on application with guests staying on powered sites in our special dog friendly area. Guests are responsible for ensuring their pet is kept on a leash and away from all park amenities and facilities including the camp kitchen. A poop bag dispenser is conveniently located in the Park. Placement of caravans

We will help you place your caravan on your site. To comply with fire regulations, all vans MUST have the drawbar facing toward the road.

Playground and bouncing pillow

The children’s playground is next to reception. Smoking is not permitted within 10 metres of the equipment, as per Qld law.

Children 12 years old must be supervised by an adult.

Public phone

Located outside the games and recreation room.

Reception

Current open hours are published on our website Contact page. For emergency assistance outside office hours, please use the emergency intercom located near the reception entrance door or contact park managers on phone number 07 5667 2746.

Recreation room

The recreation room is behind reception and is open from 7.30am to 10pm each day. Facilities include TV with Foxtel and coin operated gaming machines.

Children 12 years old must be supervised by an adult.

Security

We’d like your holiday to be enjoyable. Holidaying is a great time to get to know your neighbours and keep an eye out for each other’s belongings.

Your security is important to us. We recommend you keep your possessions, vehicles and accommodation safely secured at all times. If you have any concerns, please speak to one of our friendly staff.

Site cleanliness and boundaries

Please keep your site tidy and use the facilities provided to dry clothes, discharge sullage water and dispose of rubbish. Make sure your caravan, car and camping equipment stay within your site boundaries. Ropes or fastenings must not be tied to trees, fences or park structures. It is your responsibility to position your camping equipment so that your vehicle fits on your site. If it doesn’t fit, it must be parked outside the park.

Swimming pools

Pool hours are signed at each pool area. Management reserves the right to change and amend hours as necessary for the safety of park guests. The pools are seasonally heated. For your safety and the comfort of all, please note:

• no glass, smoking or alcohol
• no diving or running
• children under 12 years old must be supervised by an adult

Vehicles – drive with care

The safety of all guests is vital. Please adhere to the eight-kilometre speed limit (walking pace) within the park. Park roads are shared zones. Please follow all road signage and give way to pedestrians.

Site fees include one vehicle only. Additional vehicles can be parked in the visitors’ car park. Speak to reception for approval and cost of an additional vehicle on site.

Water conservation

Please conserve water by keeping your showers short and reporting leaking taps to our reception staff.

Kirra Beach has got to be one of the most laid back destinations on the Gold Coast, where board shorts and bare feet are the local dress code. Come and experience this relaxed way of life for yourself – the stress levels are low and holiday vibes are high!

Kirra is the spiritual home of surfing on the Gold Coast and world class point breaks will have visiting board riders spending countless hours in the water. But there’s much more than surf to this slice of heaven. The café scene is thriving so a stroll along the shore and with a stop for coffee and breakfast is a great way to start the day. Nearby shops, restaurants, Surf Lifesaving clubs and the Gold Coast Airport (1 km walking distance) are easily accessible by bus, bike or on foot via scenic beachfront walkways.

As one of the few dog-friendly holiday parks on the Gold Coast, Kirra Beach Tourist Park welcomes your pooch as part of the family. We have dog friendly cabin accommodation, multiple sites and specific areas allocated as dog-friendly zones and beautiful, grassy parklands adjacent to the park so your dog will enjoy your stay as much as you do. Pets appreciate the park’s dog wash facility at the end of a day’s exercise or beach visit.

Parking

Access from the car park to the main entrance is clear and level. Out front of reception there is also an undercover “drop off” zone.

Reception

Access to reception/kiosk is level and entry doors are automatic opening (880mm wide). Flooring is slip-resistant. A split level reception desk accommodates guests using a wheelchair. The lower desk height is 940mm. Outdoor seating is available. Information on local services beneficial to guests travelling with a service animal, is on hand. All printed material may be requested in larger print. Staff are trained in accessibility awareness and the resident manager is available for emergencies after hours.

Recreational Areas

For social gatherings and activities, guest facilities include a recreation room and camp kitchen. Level pathways approach both facilities, and entry widths are adequate for wheelchair access. The accessible path to the camp kitchen is 1200mm wide. The path leading to the pool area is 1020mm wide. Guests may relax in the recreation room, where television and coin operated gaming machines are available. At this facility, there is an indoor bench around the room that is 730mm high. The sink height is 910mm. In the fully equipped camp kitchen, picnic tables (height 760mm) with bench seating are available, so there’s no excuse not to linger and socialise. The barbeques are 960mm high and the sinks 990mm high.

Getting around the Park

Mobility is made easy throughout the park grounds via the internal network of roads and pathways. These are suitable for users of wheelchairs, prams and mobility scooters.

Easy Access Bathroom Facility

An easy access bathroom facility is provided within the Park. The doorway width is 740mm and the floor space is 2.6m x 1.86m. Features include a tiled floor, hand rails, hand held flexible shower rose and portable shower stool. Access is with a key from reception.

Accommodation – Easy Access Cabin

Please note that this four-berth cabin does not meet current fully accessible standards, but it does have ease of access features that include a ramp leading to the front door for easy wheelchair access, and an equipped bathroom (further details beneath). Set amongst beautiful landscaped gardens, the easy access cabin offers guests privacy and peace during their stay. Features include tiled floors, kitchen bench height of 900mm, bed height 550mm and light controls within reach of the bed. The master bedroom doorway is 800mm wide and to the bathroom, 770mm wide. Hand rails are conveniently placed to bathroom basin, shower and toilet use. The toilet is 480mm high. The shower space measures 1.07m x 1m. An extendable shower head, lever operated taps and a portable chair are provided. The television has captions enabled.

Coolangatta oceanway

Just 1km east of our Park, guests may access the coastal oceanway footpath. The spectacular outlook from this esplanade may be enjoyed over a stretch of path exceeding 5km. Although mainly level, there are hills along the way, refreshment kiosks, and four Surf Lifesaving Clubs. Highlights are the inspiring views and fresh sea breezes. Bench seats are dotted along the pathway which continues through to the heights of Point Danger. This rewarding end point is well worth the effort.

City of Gold Coast Mobility Maps

The City’s mobility maps are designed to provide accessibility information to assist residents and visitors to plan their stay and move around the city safely. Map information includes the location of accessible toilets, change facilities, accessible car parking spaces, pathway gradients, location of kerb ramps and key buildings and services. Transport information for light rail stations, bus stops and bus routes is also featured.

Kirra Beach Pet Friendly Guidelines

Your furry family members are welcomed at Kirra Beach Tourist Park! To ensure that you, your dog, and the rest of our Park guests enjoy their stay in a clean and healthy environment, please refer to the following guidelines and sign the Pet Friendly Guidelines and Waiver prior to arrival.

• Pet friendly accommodation:
  • Sites: Designated dog friendly sites are available at Kirra Beach. Bookings will not be accepted where a guest is staying in a tent with a dog.
  • Cabins: Kirra Beach has three (3) dedicated dog friendly cabins.

• Certain breeds of dog are not permitted entry into any Gold Coast Tourist Park. Please refer to the Queensland Restricted Dog List
• Maximum of 2 dogs are permitted to stay per booking.
• Nightly charge of $5 per dog applies for site bookings at Kirra Beach.
• Dogs must be up to date on all vaccinations. Proof of vaccinations/certificates are required prior to arrival.
• Dogs must comply with local legislation requirements and must be registered with local council from where they reside.
• Dogs may only be left unattended for short periods when the owner is using a facility where dogs are not permitted. Dogs must remain secure and not cause a disturbance.
• Guest(s) are responsible for cleaning up after their dog on Park property and in the neighbourhood. A poop bag dispenser is located in the Park(s).
• Dogs must be well mannered and appropriately restrained by the guest at all times.
• Any disturbances such as barking, must be curtailed to ensure other guests and neighbouring residents are not inconvenienced. You may be asked to leave if noise continues.
• If the dog acts in any way considered aggressive, dangerous, or destructive, the Park Managers have the right to ask guests to leave the Park, in which case they will not be entitled to any refund.
• Guest(s) are responsible for all property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet. The Park reserves the right to charge the guest’s account commensurate to the cost of such damages.
• Guest(s) and dog owner(s) agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gold Coast Tourist Parks, its managers, their staff and City of Gold Coast from all liability, loss and damage suffered as a result of the guest’s dog. Furthermore, the guest(s) and dog owner(s) agree to solely accept all liability, financial or otherwise which may result in dog loss from disease, death, theft, fire, the running away of any dog or any other unavoidable circumstance.

Whilst Kirra Beach Tourist Park happily welcomes dogs year-round, the park is not entirely dog friendly. During your stay, please ensure that your furry family member stays within the designated dog friendly areas and is under your control at all times. Pets are not permitted in the public areas of the park including, but not limited to the swimming pool, playground, camp kitchen or barbeque areas, cabins, lodges and amenities.
