Beautiful rainforest, pristine beaches, crystal clear creeks, ocean as far as the eye can see and a majestic city skyline. You can see this all in one spot. A place where you can just, breathe…
Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?
Well it’s not. It’s real and it’s so breathtaking that you won’t want to miss it while you are staying at Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park.
We are talking about the Burleigh Headlands National Park. With fantastic walking tracks suitable for all fitness levels and scenery that will blow your mind. Don’t forget to pack some water and you might want to take your camera so you can snap a few shots along the way.
Let us take you there…
As you leave the park you head under the bridge, your first photo opportunity with some colourful and creative graffiti art along the walls. Head up the stairs and over the bridge enjoying the views out to sea and back towards the Gold Coast hinterland. You might also be lucky enough to see some of our amazing Sea Life swimming happily in the water below. At the end of the bridge turn right onto the start of the walking track.
Take a look around, check out those tall green trees, the palms and the ferns and feel the lovely cool breeze weaving through the greenery. Breathe…
Turn left and head up the hill, a twisting and turning path leads through the rainforest. If you take your time and look closely you will notice wildlife foraging through the scrub and in the tops of the trees. Even with the city and the highway so close by, it’s just so peaceful.
The tracks through this amazing area are built so beautifully into the landscape, they just add to the mystical feel as you wander through. It’s like being in your own life size fairy garden. You will eventually arrive at the lookout where you can see the Gold Coast City skyline and Beaches, maybe even the sunrise across the ocean if you are up early enough. During July to October you might even be lucky enough to see a few whales gliding past as they migrate north. Take a rest here. Breathe…
You wander down the track which brings you out at Burleigh Beach. Here, you can take off your shoes and feel the sand between your toes, check out the smooth rock pools and take a seat for a while to watch the surfers catching magnificent Gold Coast waves.
Close your eyes for a moment, the ocean breeze is just, incredible. Breathe…
You then head off along the track around the front of the headland, where you will be in awe of the truly amazing views as you walk through. As you get back to the top you can now see towards Coolangatta and can take a seat, have a little rest and some water near the lookout. Now is a great time to grab some more photos, the look out deck is the perfect selfie spot. It is rather high but very safe and you really don’t want to miss the scenery from here.
When your ready you continue strolling along the track back towards where you came in. Don't miss the opportunity to go for a quick dip and cool down on one of the many little beach areas along the creek. They are so secluded you might even get a spot all to yourself where you take in the sounds of the animals and beaches. Breathe…

Head back out the way you came in and back over the bridge. Grab yourself a cool refreshment from our onsite Kiosk. You will be feeling so relaxed and refreshed. Calm and peaceful. Grateful for the amazing natural surrounds that are so close and yet, don’t even feel as though they could be in the city.
Sit back at your site or cabin and just relax… Breathe…
